Two great movies that made my weekend

Deewar

Saw Deewar after a long time. Along with the famous dialogues which have made it a classic, Amitabh is superb.Even when you know what dialogues are next, this is one movie which is not boring. Three decades from its release it is still an enjoyable film. What made Amitabh tick I felt was the look in his eyes! Sad ,Brooding & very rarely (in fact did he?) Smiling. He had an ability to cover his lack of conventional good looks by the expressions. God! what screen presence.
No Overacting he sure has a lot the current crop can pick up from.It is a movie relevant even today as the power of money finally is overshadowed by right values.
The classic " Mere paas maa hai!" is wonderfully picturised & the prelude to this dialogue is superb!

If you haven't watched this film, you have missed a classic. Watch it!

Kanda Naal mudal

A clean family entertainer which was beautifully shot. The story is not anything new but the treatment is what is worth appreciating.Prasanna is an actor with a long innings and is here to stay. What I liked about the film are:

The climax where Prasanna declares his love for Laila & the way the whole scene is conceived.

Laila's clothes which are so wearable & so everyday which give it a great appeal.

Karthik was good for his short role.

The acceptance of the mother that her daughter eloped and got married because she was pregnant.

The younger sister given a nice baby shower inspite of the elder one not married.

Normal everyday language.

Factors which are not normally shown in movies but were well brought out in this film.

Overall true to its tagline , it sure is like a good cup of coffee in the morning!
You can relish every frame!!!
