MUMBAI U ROCK!!

The series of blasts in Mumbai yesterday was SHOCKING to say the least! The images were horrifying esp when every news channel was showing the gory images! With the question of TRPs on hand it is sad that the media has gone INHUMAN!

But in the midst of all this: it was relief to see the hostelites sharing their rooms & food so willingly. "In Mumbai you are never an outsider" my cousin had told me. I understood what it meant. As a kid i used to visit Mumbai for summer vacation & I loved it. But living in Mumbai NO WAY! For a holiday it was great!

My cousins however loved mumbai & cudn't think of any other place to move to! They used to tell me that what was best about Mumbai was that it had a roof for everyone,a man who earned Rs.2/day or the one who earned a lac/day. Till date it is true.Mumbai treats everyone alike. The crowds in the trains definitely put me off but what struck me was their sense of timing. An appointment cud be fixed & kept up if you were to use the local train or the bus. God! what perfect coordination! Life has a whole new meaning if you live in Mumbai. You are PUNCTUAL!

When i saw the news this morning about how life is back to normal,it surprised me. The students who accomadated the stranded passengers with food & whatever comfort they could, touched me! This was only casually mentioned in the news. Isn't this News they should focus on? The scenes of the blast are Disturbing but somebody helping is Reassuring!

The attitude of many people today is cynicism, hardly are we spreading cheer. Pictures like this & news features with positive input need our attention. Why isn't the media more humane? Spread the news that the world IS a nice place to live in & MUMBAI I SALUTE YOU for leading the way!

The media always looks for something, it can call "breaking news". It specializes in showing gory images, but does not do much to show the silver lining too. Not generalizing but still...

Looks like you`re blogging after a really long time..

With Best Regards,

Media shows attention because the mass shows attention in reading such news. Let us ignore them and it was good show of Mumbaikars attitude. It was really disheartening to hear about the incident. It so happened that I had to fly through Mumbai after couple of days of those incidents. I felt sad when the plan was flying over Mumbai. I could only mourn for those victims when I was looking at Bombay from the air and as well as when we were there at the airport for transit.

I think you have been busy in your life and hence no posts for long time.
