The "Real" Sarkar

Yesterday i saw the film "Sarkar" with AB in the lead.It was the first time both ABs were together as father & son. Amitabh was good while Abhishek was "Brilliant".

While many felt it had shades of the Thackerey family, Ram Gopal Varma was careful to see the similarities were not too evident.In fact he even writes that "The Godfather" is his inspiration.

Abhishek is sure to go places. Right from "Refugee" there was something in his eyes that made him look different. It took him long to prove himself since he had an Icon of a father to emulate. Expectations were high.Individually he was good but the comparisons were weighing him down! He had BIG (pun intended) shoes to fit into.

Slowly but surely he is making his presence felt proving that he is AB's baby afterall.

What i liked most in 'Sarkar' was the last scene.

A stylish ending which definitely showed us who the "real" Sarkar will be!

hmm..The only movie of his that I liked was the one he did with Rani...where they are conmen, forgot the name..

Infact, that maniratnam starrer he did with Rani was also okee....but not as good as what maddy did in tamil..

He somehow seems good but not spectacular..nothing flashy....maybe that is what is expected of an actor..probably :-)

Provin right that.. A lion's son can not be an ordinary street cat :)

He is a wonderful actor and obviously he had a rough patch in the beginning, all coz of his surname..

(PS: Me wondering what if Rajini had a son!!)

@ginkgo:
That's Bunty aur Babli.
Haven't seen Yuva but seeing the awards he collected for it, I knew he had "arrived"!

@nanyaar:
God! He's done that many movies already!!
Agree fully with you that "A lion's son cannot be an ordinary street cat".

His wait has been long 'coz of his surname.

Yeah, I was also impressed by the performance of Abhishek, while Big B didnt have much to do with the legendary role done by the great Marlon Brando. Being a Coppola fan myself, I couldnt take this film as a great piece of work, but Abhishek's work is noteworthy.
