I AM SMILING!

A lot of things have been happening eversince my last post. Today i am smilimg at the end of it all!If some of them took me to cloud nine, the most important incident brought me down to mother earth! But...First things first! October 15th is always a special day for me. A day when one of God's created his most wonderful creation. A creation who made my life so full of love, compassion & blessed it with all the good fortune I could dream of! I stand today thankful for this creation. The light of my life.Without whom I wouldn't be what I am. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMMA!!! THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU!

Now for what happened for the past few days. Exams for the kids & then my sister came here with her kids. It was decided we leave for a temple the next day. The same day however we got a call that my grandaunt expired & so couldn't visit the temple. The trip was postponed by 16 days. My sister decided to stay on. An unexpected blessing. It was a wonderful two week holiday in store.

A 3 day prog for fresh recruits of a MNC followed. A great programme & I enjoyed my self thoroughly. Corporate training is what I always wanted to do on a full time basis. I was trying it on a free lance basis & it worked. What a wonderful 3 day session it was!A campus to corporate training. Fresh out of college with dreams in their eyes & enthusiasm they made great participants. I loved it thoroughly & made sure they enjoyed too.

Holidays still on, got to do interesting voiceovers too.

Then school started. Just like any other day, Dhruv my younger one started to school on 5th October & as it was late I asked my sister to drop him off at school. He said bye to me a 100 times over, blew kisses from the gate & with his sweet smile kept waving out. A few minutes later , my sister called to say she was taking him to a hospital close by as he was wounded while crossing the road. Another 3 minutes later, his teacher called me to find out what happened to Dhruv, someone told her he met with an accident. I had no idea & I told her i'll call back. I called the number from where my sister had called. The guy who answered the call told me that my son was badly wounded & gave the phone to my sister. It was then that she told me to come to a particular hospital with cash as she wasn't carrying any. I went with my heart in my mouth & was not still sure of what I was going to see.

When I saw Dhruv I was shocked!! His uniform was torn & had a lot of blood stains. His face was injured, so was his right hand. They were all superficial but needed the expert hands of a Plastic surgeon for dressing & three wounds needed suturing. God, I was wondering from where i had the strength not to faint. All he cried & told me was "Amma, I'm sorry!" I could not show him my tears. I WAS THANKFUL HE WAS ALIVE.

Then my sister told me what happened. In the usual junction that I cross the road with him, he crossed & she didn't know he would. Suddenly when he darted across, she shouted asking him what he was doing & he tried coming back when a van knocked him down & the impact of the fall was that he hit the sharp edges of the footpath & had a deep wound in the chin, near his eyebrow & in the shoulder. The driver applied the brakes & they worked when Dhruv was just a fraction of a second from the wheel. God when i heard this i was so busy thanking God & also realised ,why Dhruv kept saying sorry to me.My sister took time time to overcome the shock as she saw it all happening befor her.Our temple visit was due on Saturday & this happened on Thursday & i wasn't sure if we would go. I hesitatingly asked the doctor & He told me that we could go.

Now this visit was to Kalahasthi, a temple town about 3hrs from Chennai. We had been there before. This time, however, we wanted to go the night before so that we could visit the Sahasralinga temple a little away from there. It was a wonderful climb & I wasn't sure if Dhruv could do it. He did it. what is special is that there are 1000 small lingas inscribed in the big Linga .The locals believe it is Agasthya Muni who brought it there. On the way up there is a watersource whose origin the locals do not know of . they however believe that the water would cleanse all the illnesses in us.It is midway in our climb & so quenches our thrist for sure. All done it was a wonderful climb & it took us about 11/2 hours to get back. They call this area Dakshina Kailasha!

It is a week now & Dhruv will be going to school from tomorrow.
THANK YOU GOD FOR GIVING ME BACK MY DHRUV!

Overall an eventful 2 weeks where i had my ups & downs & at the end of it all....
I AM SMILIMG!!

Passerby55 will take your tag as my next post... I promise!!

I can only imagine w3hat you went through till you met your son. Glad everything's okay! the stuff a mom's heart has to go through...

Interesting stuff you do, corporate training, fresh recruits, MNC? India sounds so cool! :-)

Sri Kalahasthi was a favorite temple of mine, next to Tirupati of course.

Very Glad dhruv is fine. I remember the day when my 2 year old nephew fell from the 7th floor... My sister would have fainted right there with shock....

but by god's grace he escaped with a few minor scrathes because of a tree that broke his fall... :)...

Glad everything is fine.

Praise the Lord!!

Dhruv is fine. Kids can be like this at times. Why blame the kids??Even we can behave like this!

But the best part is that he has recovered and will be in school now.

Take care of yourself and him too.

Rashmi,

Much relieved to know the end. Glad that Dhruv is fine now. God is great. These are just small incidents to make us remember that he is still there. I would like to appreciate the way you faced a crisis with courage.

Take care of the kids! Your sister must have been in a great shock as well.
