HAPPY NEW YEAR

2008 has been an eventful year for me & quite a lot happening in my life and in the world. With training programmes coming in ,Bangalore suddenly was making me feel comfortable. Certifications meant online exams , a new challenge met successfully. Then the most unexpected thing happened I went back to 101.3F.M in March. The warmth of AIR(All India Radio) made me feel good about joining back Rainbow. March was when I went live on air & to see that listeners remembered me after 3 years was touching. Meeti yaadein brought back all great memories & it felt good to be doing what I was passionate about. Corporate training coupled with RJing was a great combination. Something beyond my dreams & I was enjoying myself. Maybe that's why I never updated my blog as I had an outlet to my views.

India too saw so many dreams fulfilled. Our first ever Olympic gold medal, bronze medals both in sports that were never highlighted upon. Cricket found a new lucky mascot in our captain M.S.Dhoni. Vishwanathan Anand kept the Indian flag high in the chess world. Saina, Jeev Milkha Singh & Gagang Narang made sure we were noticed in the world scenario. Suddenly India was rocking in the world of sports as in science.Chandrayaan did us proud. ISRO scientists made sure our country joined an exclusive list of countries. IISc celebrated its centenary year.

The sad part of course the bomb blasts shook us. Careless comments & uncaring leaders made us look at politics differently. We suddenly felt unsafe in our own city. Crowded places seemed vulnerable. As we were coming out of that fear came 26/11 which shook the country but brought us together too. There was a sudden rush of patriotism which seemed lacking for so long. Finally we asked questions that had to be answered. A phase which changed the outlook of the whole nation! Maybe the 2009 elections can see the outcome.

USA saw a new President. A great orator who had the whole world chanting with him" YES WE CAN" Very rarely do we witness such historic moments. An erudite, sophisticated and eloquent Barrack Obama became the 44th President of USA promising change. A CHANGE that the world is waiting for, in this period of worst ever economic crisis. The silver lining of HOPE the world needs in this phase. He seems to be DESTINY'S CHILD. Hoping he is able to keep up his promise and wishing him all success.

The biggest surprise of 2008 is my trip to California. I'll be here till March with my brother & his family. So celebrating the onset of 2009 in a country so far away from home, here's wishing all of you A HAPPY & PROSPEROUS 2009. May all your dreams come true.
